Jezroc Metal Works Blog

Description of my blog

Well, it's been a busy year, so much so that we haven't had time to update here much.  The Indy Winter Classic is now over and it's time for Westminster!  Good luck to all of our friends competing there this year.

For 2011 we changed our booth set-up to include more photos of completed projects and less gate displays to give people a better idea of the services we offer- which is anything and everything metal!  We again created and donated the Best of Breed trophy for the Hoosier Rottweiler club Specialty and rather than a trophy proper as we did last year, this was a beautiful plasma cut photo frame to display the winning photo.  Lots of scroll engraving and intricate design.  It was a big hit!  The lucky winner was Kathy Lovan and Tudie, handled by Perry Payson.  Congratulations!

We also added new displays for our hand crafted jewelry which gave people something other than pictures to look at in our booth.  The response to the jewelry line was outstanding and very encouraging.  We will be posting some pics of the new pieces and setting up a shopping cart feature on the Blog to accommodate that.

After all the hard work  and very little sleep preparing for the Classic, we now plan to actually take one full day off to recoup and relax. When we return, we will update the site, add new photos and look forward to next year!

With 2010 continuing to be a very busy year for us at Jezroc, we are still focused on one of our primary mission goals of helping out those pets that need it the most. Our very own Rocco came from The Humane Society of Indianapolis so we have a special place in our hearts for them and their efforts to place needy pets. To show our appreciation and support, we have volunteered to make a series of donations involving a pair of gates and possibly another outdoor installation. Here is a pic of the first gate completed and installed in one of the back offices which will allow the people in the office to keep dogs with them throughout their workday. This will assist in socializing and regaining the trust of these animals that just need a little love and attention to help them become the greatest pets that they can become.

I had the pleasure of building and installing this Pibull themed yard/address sign. This project was done through our partnership with the Indy Pit Crew which means that a 10% donation will be made back to IPC. For every one of these Pitbull signs that we sell, there will be a donation made to Indy Pit Crew regardless of whether the sale comes through IPC or not.

Well thus far 2010 has shaped up to be a great year. Busier than ever. So much so that I have finally made this my full time profession. It is a great feeling to be making a living doing what I enjoy.

We kicked thing off with another successful appearance at the Indy Winter Classic. As part of the show weekend we volunteered to build and donate the Best of Breed trophy for the Hoosier Rottweiler Club Specialty. Here is the trophy on display at our booth prior to the winners taking it home at the end of the weekend.

Big Congratulations to The Obriens, Holly Eldred, and CH. Cammcastle Friar Tuck (Tux)

We are now also offering hand made jewelry as a part of our product line. Jennifer was so jealous of my time out in the studio creating whatever that she has now found her own niche of things to create. The jewelry cannot seem to be made fast enough although special orders of any that are on the site are always available. Most of these designs will be able to be purchased through our new etsy store and are also available at The Snazzi Boutique in the Clay Terrace Shopping mall in Carmel. Snazzi Boutique is located in the AH Collections store.

Some projects that we are currently working on include one of two custom built gates being donated to the Humane Society of Indianapolis. And now I leave you with a gate that was installed this morning. A craftsman style gate installed in a home on the southeast side of Indianapolis.

Stay tuned for more offerings from us in the near future. With summer creeping upon us there will be a few very limited fountain designs released and ready for sale as well as a continuing array of new jewelry designs.

This year's Hair Ball benefiting SNSI was a huge success and very well attended.  Unfortunately, we were too late to place an item in the silent auction this year, but plans are underway for next year's auction already!

We were the winning bidders on a custom 11x14 original oil painting by local artist Rob Day.  We are THRILLED as he is a phenomenal artist!  Please check out his portfolio of work at http://www.robday.com  Now, we have to make the difficult decision of which dog we want in the portrait!  Maybe we will be able to have them both included.. not sure about the details just yet.

We are really looking forward to next year's Hair Ball, but also please keep in mind that you may help your local animal welfare programs at any time of the year!!

We had a great turn out for the Hoosier Rottweiler Club sponsored CGC and ATT test day for Responsible Dog Owner's Day!  There were a lot of breeds represented but we have to give special attention to the pittie breed mixes that attended.  They, each and EVERY one, passed with flying colors and were outstanding in every way.  It was a tremendous day for all of us, but especially for them..

We are hoping that we will have many new entries next year as well.  We tried really hard to make everyone feel comfortable participating, and are confident we will see many newcomers next year!

Be sure to set aside some time on Sunday September 13th to come out to Carmel, IN and enjoy the Dog Day Afternoon event held in the Carmel Arts & Design District.

We will be there with some of our work on display and will also be donating one of our water bowl stands to the silent auction. So pack up whole family and (pups can come too if the are on leashes) come see us and all the other other vendors on display next Sunday.

You can read about all the events and activities for the day at:

Carmel Dog Day Afternoon

Join us August 4th through 9th at the Traders Point Hunt Charity Event at Wild Air Farm in Zionsville, In.  Stop by our booth at the Country Fair and say Hello!

We will have a working display gate as well as examples from all of our gate collections.  Be sure to participate in the silent auction that will run through Friday evening, as we will be offering a custom Jezroc gate with proceeds going to Riley Children's Foundation.  Visit their website for the full schedule of events.

We are proud to be a part of this wonderful event and look forward to meeting you at the show!

We are proud to announce our partnership with Indy Pit Crew!    They are a tremendous force for good in our area and any support you can give them is much appreciated.

Please visit their site to check out the details and their upcoming events  and how you may be able to help at http://www.indypitcrew.org/.

We are finally getting a little bit closer to being caught up now in the studio and am taking the time to get some much needed updates of some of our latest work added to the Gallery pages.

We have now started a Railings and similar related products gallery with the installation of a recent railing project installed in the the Stonegate community in Zionsville.

The official Makepeace gates have also been added to the Custom Gallery.

There is more to come as we will be adding a gallery dedicated to our friends at Fetch Dog Resort where we recently installed kennel and lobby gates at their new facility on the North side of Indianapolis. Here is a quick snapshot during the installation of the kennel gates.
